JOURNAL (JACK) the day after:  I went into the Leaf and Vine at about 8:30 and checked with the bar girl that I was there and confirmed that I was going on at 9:00.  There was a band playing at the time.  The place was packed with barely walking room.  I would say 50 or more people.  I sat at the bar looking for anything unusual.  The only thing I noticed was someone behind me saying "Jack" softly.  I looked around and a girl was nearby but not directing anything to me.  In fact she was in transit with a cream pitcher that she dropped off at a table and then went to her own table.  I didn't know anyone in the bar.

The band played until past nine.  But I didn't care because the poetry I would read I would just jumble anyway.  I am too busy adjusting the camera and watching the time with a watch clipped through a button hole in my shirt to concentrate on poetry.  To read poetry well (even your own) takes a high degree of concentration.  After they played their last song, I went to the stage and sat down on a stool.  The band essentially ignored me and began taking their equipment down.  My thoughts went to Chaucer, the 14th century English poet, when he said "time and the tide waits for no man".  I knew at 9:11 the tide of performers would enter and do their thing.

They did and when they left I just quietly left the stage without having to read anything.  The band was still picking up their gear.  We met outside and went around the corner and I took the group picture.

It was our best raid for two reasons.  We had a very large audience (large even for performance art standards) and we had more performers.  With the three performances we added a performer each time.   My thoughts are "If the raids continued would we continue to add performers?"  I would think we would.  These three were somewhat of a blitz (all done within a months time) and more time between them and future ones would give more time to organize.

I thought of, and we discussed, the similarity to an Al Qaeda raid and saw them as very similar to the point they would be done exactly this way.  We did the 9:11 because of the backward clock in a previous performance but it in itself points to Al Qaeda. In our case I had the idea to put a qlitch in the space time continuum so the time travelers could find us.  I sent notices to the press.  I sent notices via the Internet. I gathered people together that were interested in doing the raid.  We set the rules, the place and the time.  The place was scouted and marked with Latitude and Longitude.  Papers were signed to get the open mic at the proper time. Once the clock was in motion (Chaucer's tide) it was unstoppable and when 9:11 pm est., December 1st rolled around it was going to happen.  And it did.

THE VIDEO

The performance took 44 seconds.  Notice that at 14.20 seconds the clock in the upper left corner is at 9:11.  In the next frame at 14.21 seconds the hour hand has jumped.

The video is in Real Media format.  I changed the brightness and contrast because it was very dark.  The resolution is poor because it is compressed to fit on the site.  WATCH VIDEO
