Black tee shirt with Hate written in drippy red
Daisies
around the collar
Black
Book bag with patches of Marilyn Manson, Grateful Dead, Nine Inch Nail, Smashing
Pumpkins, Nirvana
Lips
caress the mic
As
the tongue slithers in and out
Smell
of petulie as the lights warm her
Tongue
ring rattles across the mic “click, click, click”
Small
breast heave as she yells
“Hate,
hate, Hate”
Twisting
to the side and down
Takes
another drag off her cigarette
“Cough,
cough, cough”
She
lifts her shirtsleeves and there tattooed on her arm is a picture of Ann Ryand
surrounded by butterflies and fairies
“F***,
f***, f***”
“I
hate” as the smoke rapidly escapes her pulsing red lips.
She
throws a kiss at another young poetry chick girl
Licks
her lips and yells.
“Miss,
Miss, Miss, Misunderstood.
I am misunderstood”
Frayed
holes in the knees of her jeans
High
lift heels to make her tall
Still
has to raise her chin to reach the mic.
“Weed,
Weed, Weed”
“Entwining
the flower” As she wraps herself in the mic cord
She
takes her bow
